Fielding Arnold is the founder of Third Mast, an organization created to help leaders, and the organizations and communities that rely upon them, become better at what they do.
At Third Mast, we believe you can't separate the person from the role: a leader is an individual, shaped by their unique experience, how they spend time in all parts of life, how they take care of themselves on and off the job, and what matters to them inside their role and outside of it. When we work with leaders, we look at how they are showing up in all parts of their lives. Organizations are shaped by the tone and culture set by these leaders, and culture is a great predictor of how a company works, and how well it works.
Fielding began her career teaching leadership and teamwork on sailing and backcountry expeditions, including as a captain and instructor for Outward Bound where she also served as a manager and instructor trainer before moving to the private sector. Fielding shifted to the private sector to assist senior leadership of fast growth companies in setting and implementing strategy, creating intentional company cultures and developing self-driving and sustainable business models.
Fielding earned her A.B. in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University and MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. She is a certified Integral Coach through New Ventures West and holds ACC accreditation from the International Coaching Federation. She’s also an Outward Bound and a NOLS alum. She resides in Durham, NC with her family. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
